FAQ

What tuning does this use?

Standard 5-string banjo Open G: g (short 5th), D, G, B, D. The short 5th string acts as a drone from the 5th fret.

Do you pitch-shift the samples?

No. Each playable cell expects its own file in /sounds5 (e.g., G4.wav, Gsharp4.wav, G#4.wav). This keeps tone realistic.

Why don’t some notes make sound?

The exact filename may be missing. Filenames must match the clicked note (including octave). The player tries both symbol and word spellings.

How does Play Mode work?

Asc (once) orders notes low→high and plays once; Asc→Desc (once) runs up then down once without duplicating the top tonic; Asc (loop) repeats the ascent until you press Stop.

Left-handed support?

Yes. Toggle Left-Handed to flip the fretboard rows.

Show non-scale notes?

Enable Show All Notes to reveal every fret (scale tones remain highlighted).
